When you are in the middle of nowhere you need to know you can trust your equipment. We have listed the equipment that we have tested and used on our adventures so far and has proven to be good quality 

Cheeki 1 Litre Stainless Steel Water Bottle

I love these bottles! I carry two on my bike, they hold 1 litre of water which is useful for long adventures. They are BPA free and come with two options for lids.

SONY AX-53 4K CAMCORDER

Why do we use a Camcorder and not a DSLR? Because this camera has in built image stabilisation which on a bike is invaluable. We are more about video than pictures so this camera is perfect for us. Simple point and shoot with easy to use function. Did I mention it shoots in 4K?

MSR TITANIUM KETTLE

We are English so a cup of tea is essential for a camping trip. This extremely light weight titanium kettle we use solely for water and it boils on the MSR Pocket Rocket stove in no time at all. A bit pricey but we have used it enough to justify the price now! 

MOTO BAREFOOT PEDALS

I like being barefoot if the weather is warm, it eliminates smelly feet! These Moto Barefoot pedals where only bought to test but I have done nearly 1000 miles on them, they are German and rock solid. Try them out, the feeling of cycling barefoot is amazing!

66 DEGREES NORTH SNAEFELL NEO SHELL WATERPROOF JACKET

Orange, Waterproof, Breathable and with a clever design to stop it riding up when you raise your hands. Expensive but I value a waterproof jacket very highly when on adventures in the UK. Limited colours and sizes available, check amazon below.

Sealskinz Fingerless Merino Glove LinerS

Merino wool is a cycle tourists best friend. It is warm and you can go for days even weeks with out washing it! My advise is let it get some air and in the morning it smells fresh. Finger less gloves are a life save when using a camera!

Ortlieb Front Roller Classic PANNIER

When it comes to panniers Ortlieb are not the only brand on the market but they are a brand that have a proven track record in being waterproof, I have used these front panniers over 2 years and they have not failed me yet. Highly recommend .

THORN NOMAD MK2 - TOURING BIKE

This is the tank of touring bikes. specifically designed to go the distance and handle heavy loads. It features an internal Rohloff hub gearing systems and is low maintenance which is great for less mechanical tourer! Designed and sold by Thorn in the UK.

JOE SHIRT V-NECK GREY CHARCOAL-100% MERINO WOOL

We love Merino Wool and we love a V-Neck so this is perfect for the Beard Brothers. We have 4 of these shirts in different colours now. Check size chart as I am normally a large but in these I am XL. Highly Recommend

RODE MIC PRO

Filming an adventurer is always exciting but without crisp clear audio it can mean a lot of frustrating subtitles or lost audio which takes you away from the story. This Rode Mic offers professional audio in a small package. Just remember to turn it on!

MSR POCKET ROCKET STOVE

The advantage of this stove is it's size, absolutely tiny and can fit in your pocket. It is a monster when on full throttle though. Zero to Boil in a couple of minutes! I wouldn't be without it!

SEAL SKINZ DRAGON EYE WATERPROOF GLOVES

I have gone through so many waterproof gloves until I realised that SealSkinz are the top brand for a reason. These are fantastic gloves, Waterproof, Warm and durable. Should have saved the money I wasted on other brands and bought these first time!

NORTH FACE THERMOBALL VALENCIA ORANGE JACKET

I used to think Thermoball was just a "science" sounding name but it actually works. Lightweight yet very warm. Not waterproof but excellent as a layer under your rain jacket. Not available in Valencia Orange anymore, link to black one.

Energizer XP20000A 20000 mAh Portable Battery Charger

This is not light but it can charge my camera batteries, laptop and Smart phone which during a long trip is so valuable. it has 20000 MAH which is huge! Cycling in the UK makes it more practical than Solar!

Ortlieb RACK PACK TRAVEL BAG - 49 LTRS

I purchased this to store my sleeping bag in as the previous "Waterproof" stuff sack I had used left me with a wet sleeping bag. This is perfect if maybe a bit big, but it does allow me to take extra equipment for filming. Highly recommend.

66 DEGREES NORTH SURTSEY HAT

This Orange Beanie style hat has been on all my adventures. Very warm and with a wind proof layer. Gets a bit hot when cycling! I purchased it in a store because it was orange and seems to be hard to find online now..

MSR Hubba Hubba NX Tent red/olive - 2 MAN TENT

This tent is brilliant for bike packing and hiking. Super lightweight and really simple to put up and take down. This is one of my best buys ever. You can also pitch this tent on concrete or hard ground without pegs!

RODE DEAD CAT MIC COVER

If you are filming outdoors then buy a dead cat, it helps eliminate wind noise which can ruin a scene especially at the top of a mountain. This is a new bit of kit and hopefully you will notice better audio on our new videos.

SEALSKINZ MTB ANKLE WATERPROOF SOCKS

Cycling in the UK means that waterproof socks are an essential bit of kit. The SealSkinz MTB fit great, easy on and off, waterproof and warm. Like all cycling waterproof socks, they will stink after a few rides so give them a rinse!

When cycling long distances sometimes I like to listen to pod cast or have a catch up call with someone. These Jabra Wireless Headphones connect fast and the smaller ear buds mean I can still hear the approaching traffic.
